Entry For The Canvas Corp Brands April Challenge: Feathers

Hello there,
welcome to INSPIRE creative blog.

Today I wanted to share with you
a fun project I created using
cardstock & Tattered Angels Mists
to create ombre' paper feathers,
for the Canvas Corp Brands April Challenge.
#ccbchallenge

I chose 6-1/2 x 8 canvas triangle bunting
as the base for this project.

I first used my electronic cutting machine
to cut paper feather's in 3 slightly different sizes,
and  chose 3 shade levels of aqua heavy cardstock.

Once cut, I used 3 shades of
Tattered Angels Mists
to give a sort of ombre' look to each feather.

I gathered the feathers together,
adding a floral element of a dangling Venice lace
to each flag, and centered a clay rose,
also sprayed with glimmer mist.
I also added a small Venice lace trim
to the top of each triangle.

On the center triangle, I added delicate colors
of pearl centered flowers, and lightly "printed" flowers,
as well as wood letter tiles and wood cutout elements.

I attached baker's twine in the shade of aqua
joining the 3 flags together to hang on the wall.

I hope you enjoy this project,
and find yourself inspired to create one too!

Until next time, Crafty Blessings to you!

French Flea Market Shabby Inspired Canvas-Brief How To

Hi Everybody!
So happy to be back crafting and blogging,
after dealing with food poisoning last week.
Needless to say, it will be a very long time before I will eat taco's, home cooked or elsewhere.

Anyways, I wanted to share with you
a French Flea Market Shabby Inspired
5x5 Canvas Panel.

With minimal supplies,
here is a brief how to, so you can create one too.

I love these canvas panels, and Hobby Lobby actually
sales them in packs of 5, in various sizes.

I used my trusty fave, Mod Podge to adhere
the base patterned paper, and added
layers with paper doilies, and the addition of
paper with a bird on a doily banner.

I used 11gauge silver wire, threaded through eyelets
that were screwed into the panel (and secured with a dollop of glue) and then twisted with
some baker's twine colored teal & white.

I stayed with using the same colors in flowers, that were on the patterned paper, hues of soft teal, pink & ivory.

I added pearlized sequins randomly on the patterned paper,
used flat back pearls to the centers of each flower, and finished by gluing vintage cotton lace to the bottom, and added a coordinating sequin time & twine to finish the look.

Entire project took about hour or so, and is a little
piece of cheer to add delight anywhere.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
I hope you will visit again soon,
until then.....

A Brief Hiatus...Food Poisoning Re-Cooperation

Hi everyone.
I wanted to stop by
and apologize
for lack of crafty postings this week.

On Monday evening, after preparing dinner for my
husband & myself, a few short hours later
we both became violently ill.

Apparently either our just purchased ground beef or refried beans, were bad. Tasted fine.
But apparently one or the other was bad.

We suffered from food poisoning.
Today has been the first day we really have felt better.
Still on a diet of bland food, popsicles & Gatorade,
but should be in the clear by tomorrow evening.

Stop back again soon, I will be sharing links
to The Robin's Nest, were Saturday,
I will be sharing my latest design team project.
It's an easy one, with delightful results.
Hope you will "tune" in.

Until then.....

Canvas Corp Brands March Challenge "Rebirth"

Hello Everyone.
Welcome to INSPIRE.
Today I am sharing a brief Tutorial,
on how I created a project for
 Canvas Corp Brands
This challenge is a bit different,
in that entries are for
a chance to be a Guest Designer
for the month May.
For my entry, I chose to do
a 5x7 mixed media canvas board.
I incorporated a variety of
texture through burlap, jute, fabric
and floral elements.

I captured what spring, or
a "rebirthing" of seasons
means to me.
New life with baby birds entering this world and the "song of Joy" that brings, with flowers, grass & tree's, coming back to life after their winter slumber.
All the elements I love.
I hope you enjoy this project & brief tutorial.
Thank you for stopping by.
Please visit again soon.
Until then....
