Getting Holiday

Getting Holiday here,
as I am sure everyone is,
This time of year.

Wanted to share my very
first order for Christmas cards.

Although there were
multiple layers and design elements,
I am very pleased with the finished results.

A little glitter glue to add
a wintery look, and the
design was complete.

Hope you like the design,
and find yourself inspired.

Thank You
for visiting!

Angelic Wonderland

Hello Everyone.
Wanted to share my latest project for
The Vintage Rose Emporium.

I think that I have become quite
addicted creating with Peat Pots.
Yes, Peat Pots.

These little delicate pots,
are not just for planting,
but can be made into the most
BEAUTIFUL decorations,
for holidays or just because.

Today, I am sharing
a Christmas decorative pot,
with delicate color and lots of sparkle.

I first coated the peat pot with white gesso, leaving areas exposing the natural color of the pot.
Once gesso dried, I dry brush with pearl paint in a delicate green & pink, still leaving the natural areas slightly exposed.

Next, I took a 4-inch white bottle brush tree, and added some pigment powders with a small fan brush, in a layered design, very LIGHTLY spritzing with water to soften.

I used glitter glue to a Victorian angel image I found on Pinterest.
Once everything had dried, I began adding glitter with a very light coat of glue medium to the "snowy" base of the top of the pot.

Final touches of Christmas embellishments, and BEAUTIFUL lace, buttons and a domed vintage style brooch from The Vintage Rose Emporium,
bringing the entire look together,
creating a delicate Victorian Christmas piece of décor.

I hope you enjoy this project, as much as I did creating it.

Please be sure to visit The Vintage Rose Emporium

Victorian Inspired Christmas

Hello Everyone!
Stopping in to share my recent projects, Victorian inspired Christmas decorations.

Naturally, I had found 2 similar projects
 on Pinterest (I AM ADDICTED)
and wanted to give them a try.

Here is what I used:
Wood Triangle
Small Tree Branch
Peat Pot
Gesso
Texture Paste
Glue
Glitter
Acrylic Paint
Distress Ink
Fine Grit Sandpaper
Decorative Paper
Snowflake/Ornament Embellishments
Photo Pins
Bottle Brush Tree
Styrofoam Ball
Faux Snow
Pearl Trim
Ribbon

I used a gesso base coat on both the wooden triangle & peat pot.

When the gesso fully dried on peat pot, I then painted it with a Rose Gold acrylic paint.

For the tree ornament, I cut vintage sheet music & decorative paper, glued to each side of the ornament,  lightly distressed front & back edges as well as the sides, and very lightly, brushed Rose Gold paint to all surfaces, and enhanced all edges with distress ink.

To finish the peat pot, I used texture paste, along with a sprinkle of glitter, to mimic dripping snow around the top edge. After gluing the ball on the inside if the pot, I used the same texture process, but also sprinkling with faux snow (the type used for Christmas Villages).

To finish the tree ornament, I pre-filled a shallow hole on the bottom,  cut tree branches to an unchanged piece, and secured with glue.
To the top, I added photo pin and ribbon, and on one side only, I added a glittered snowflake embellishment.

To finish the pot, I secured with glue,
a bead wrapped, bottle brush tree, photo pin with printed Santa image (also found on Pinterest), and ornaments on top of the "faux snow", and I also glued a glittered foam snowflake to the front to complete the look.

Whew, seems like a lot of work, but these were fairly easy to create, and didn't take a lot if time to do.

Thanks for stopping by, with this gal being in the Christmas spirit, there are no doubt, more Christmas projects to come!

Please visit again!

In The Midst Of Chaos

Hello Everyone!
I hope that everyone's week has gotten off to a great start!
My Monday has spent cleaning house, with the exceptions of a couple of chaotic craft spaces, lol.
Seems I always have more than one project going  at the same time, and resort to cleaning house when I can't figure them out.

I mean just look at this chaos!

So, I took a break from cleaning to share a couple of links. The first link is to my latest project tutorial for

A Most Wonderful Season

I had read earlier today. a memes on Facebook, joking that now that Halloween is over, can we just get to Christmas.

I have been one of "those" people this year, the one leaping forward into creating Christmas inspired lovelies.

And trying new (to me)
artistic designs, I am finding inspiration for on Facebook, and having a ball doing it.

This lovely, is just another one.
It is a 5x5 canvas board, somewhat altered with paper, gesso, distress inks & paint.

Just too cute right?
And so very easy to create.
I am actually considering making another and recording the process to post here and on my YouTube channel, to officially launch it.

Hope you like this little canvas goodie.
