God makes all things beautiful.

In reading the following, an opening statement from a devotional this morning, my heart has been stirred. Stirring in the knowledge that I have gained in the recent storm and obstacles my family has been facing, not only for the last 3 months, and seeing the beauty God is working through the struggle.

“Life is full of surprises…Anyone who has experienced life for any length of time is clearly aware of the “suddenlies” that can happen, changing life as he or she knows it forever. Tom Hank’s character in the movie Forest Gump famously quoted “My momma always said ‘Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.” Indeed, we do not. These surprises can be for the better, bringing joy. Or they can be challenging, a trial that we must face and go through, in order to grow and build character. As a believer in Jesus Christ, we must hold onto our faith and trust, knowing that He has the best plans for our life”.

Wow. Powerful. Just these words, gave me a different view of how I had been dealing with, and seeing the troubling situations. We truly never know what each day has in store.

In our times of struggle, we can so easily be bombarded with what is going on, instead of seeing what God is doing, where God is taking us too. Many times, we trust in what our eyes can see, instead of trusting in the unseen, which God is working on, that which He is making beautiful. We can look and see the beauty of God around us, and very well fail to recognize that we are seeing some of God’s greatest work. The sky of blue, the beautiful color and fragrance of the flower, the green grass, and we can feel and hear Him in the gentle breeze on our face, and the rustling leaves of the trees.

Today, I recognized that God can make all things beautiful. Regardless of what we see before us. Our storm is just a passing moment in life. In my own life, just in the last few days I have seen beauty arise from a troubled past. I have seen not only my own hope restored, but the hope of one who had thought everything was lost.

So today, regardless of what you are facing, remember, that God gives us beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61:3 KJV) To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified. What we see as desolation, God see’s an opportunity.

Creative Break

Been busy in the crafting corner this week. Very excited with the results and very excited to share.

First, my project entry for the September Challenge with Laurie D Moore's 2014 Challenge, Unused items over at Facebook. An altered dress form (of sorts).

My idea; "Day at the Races". My source of inspiration; My Fair Lady and the beautiful
Audrey Hepburn of course!

Next, my projects for the partner swap of Altered Mousetraps, over at Girls, Giggles, Glitter & Glue on Facebook, hosted by the lovely Cynthia Bryant.

And, my very first handmade paper flowers, also a swap over at Girls, Giggles, Glitter & Glue.

A week of firsts for me, with all three projects. Not to shabby for first time efforts!

What A Long and Winding Road

It has been far too long. Two and half years to be exact. What a long and winding road. So many life changes, some great, some terrible. Along the way, I have fallen, got back up more times than I like to count, and yet somehow, I have begun to find strength in my faith
(although the last few weeks have been a real test of my faith).
And also along that road, I have met many, m any beautiful, loving, kind, encouraging and talented women along the way, and have built many friendships.
I have also been blessed to test my talents in crafting. I have l learned many new skills, and found my creative "chi".
So, this is my new start to blogging. Here I am going to share some of my own crafts and designs, but it is not all about the crafting, I hope that I can encourage and inspire from this blog. I know that I am not the only one that has been traveling this road, nor will I be the last. So if I can share my perils, and the wisdom I gained in teachings and learning many times the hard way, I hope it will bless others. So, here I go, another new adventure!

HOLIDAY BLOG HOP ENTRY

Well, as stated in my previous post, I ended up "scrapping" 3 other projects, before finding just one that I was happy with, so that being said, I have to add that although it is not what one might consider a "traditional" Christmeas piece, it is very personal to me.

This Christmas for the very first time in my life, I am living thousands of miles away from what I always called home, now aside for the obvious that I will miss the most, MY FAMILY, there is just one thing that I love to see at Christmas time, and that is snow, Yep I said it, snow. This year with the expensive move across country depleting our funds, getting "home" for the holidays is quite unlikely, the other thing that is unlikely? Snow in here in Tampa, lol, so without further adu' here is is, my Christmas wish, "Let It Snow".

I used a12x12 stretched canvas as the base, several Canvas Corp pieces, and many other accessories, the best accessories of all, my Want 2 Scrap Bling, they were absolutely perfect for my snowy Christmas theme!

Thank You Angie Holt for this opportunity, and Thank You Want 2 Scrap! http://want2scrap.com/store/

Ugh, Artistic Block Sucks!

So, here it is......I consider myself an artist. An artist in many mediums; canvas, jewelry, mixed media art and so on. And with that comes the dreaded "ARTIST BLOCK". I am sharing this because I had decided to enter into my very first "blog hop", and after viewing other blogs of those also doing the "hop" (and I forgot to mention it is a holiday blog hop) I realized that all I really had going for my was my imagination, I don't have alot of fancy machines and things, I do however have lots of ink, and ink accessories, paint embellishments paper and so on and so on.
Fast forward past the first 3 failed projects, and I think think, ,maybe, just maybe the fourth one could be a strong contender, lol, at this very moment, still waiting for glue to dry and ink....

I had lost all confidence until I realized that I do have imagination and talent. While the following is something I did a year or two ago, with postcards from our vacation in Key West, and found seashells, scrapbook paper, tissue paper, I made art for our walls, so as a teaser for my yet to dry Holiday Blog Hop project, here my first "scrapbook memory" wall art. Be back this evening with the finished holiday project...

God's Mercy and Grace

In times such as these, with natural disaster's befalling the earth, it can be so hard to see God's mercy and grace in this life. My heart is burdened for those that are suffering loss and tragedy from the devestation of "Superstorm Sandy", and yet I am full aware that this is God's attempt to awaken people who are sleeping spiritually.
People who have not acknwledged the warnings of a time drwing close to an end on this earth. A time when good is confused for evil and evil for good. This is a time to draw close to our creator, time to fall upon our faces and cry out for a world that is dying in sin.
I myself must confess, that diligence has not been a top priority. Instead, I have gotten lost in myself, and "issues" that I have been facing. I can not hear the cries of the lost and the hurt if I am caught up in me, I have to change.
It is a time to be earnest with God, to break free of ALL things holding us back from our destiny in Him. And I am going to give it my very best effort, to make the change in me.

God be merciful, bring comfort to the hurt and downtrodden, may we all see You in this tragedy, may we be reminded of the sacrifice YOU have already made for us, that You are a loving God, and all that is required of us is to repent of our sins, and confess that Jesus is Lord of all.

Psalm 107:13~"LORD, help!" they cried in their trouble, and He saved them from their distress.

Got To Get My Crafting On

Seriously, really need to get my bliss back. I have spent the last month trying to get settled into our new place in Florida, that my crafting has taken a back seat. Not anymore, it's time to get back in the driver's seat.

Just not sure where to begin, so hear are a few of my past projects of creativity, that has helped to "re"inspire me.

And as you can see, when I get my "craftin' on", ya never know what I am gonna do!
Be blessed everyone!

Getting Things In Order

Things have been so crazy the last couple of months. Moved across the country, from north to south, without most of my furniture. Have been through the process of looking effortlessly for dining furniture, living room furniture, husband starting his new job, unpacking, so on, so on and so forth, PURE MADNESS!
And in all of the madness, we managed to spend a few days at the beach, and I have finally got my crafting den in order, for the most part at least, even have managed to be a little creative.

But still sooo much to do, and seems like little time to get it done, anyways here's a glimpse of my haven of serenity!

And so now I must get my craftin' going cause the holidays are coming up fast! Y'all be blessed!
