"Jill Frost Fairy"

Perhaps it is the lack of snow this holiday season in the Ohio valley, that had me inspired to create this little wall hanging.

I used a 4x4 burlap canvas as a niche to house bottle brush trees.
Add FABULOUS chipboard laser cuts I received in winning the November challenge over at Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts, some micro glass beads, and of course snow glitter, and voila, a frosty inspired piece of art.

Hello Everyone! I had been wanting for quite sometime, to create a YouTube Channel, and I finally took that step.

My hopes are that in the very near future, I can start recording  tutorial techniques to share with everyone.

Please stop by my channel, let me know you were there, and subscribe if you would please.

Getting Some "Craft-Zen" Time

With another successful family Thanksgiving nicely tucked away, I have found some "Craft-Zen" time to create a couple more card designs.

This time last year, I had only learned using my Silhouette Cameo for creating vinyl designs.

This year, a completely different story. What did I ever do without this machine? Factor that with FINALLY nailing heat embossing, and this gal, is one happy camper!

Hope you like these new cards, and as always God Bless!

So Much To Be Thankful For

"For each new morning with it's light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends".
~Ralph Waldo Emerson~

So many times in the troubles and struggles of life, what one is so truly grateful and thankful for, can get lost. As Thanksgiving approaches, I am more reflective on what I am thankful for most of all. It is not "things" or "stuff" but people. The love of family and friends is irreplaceable.

Embrace and cherish each and every one of those you love as you celebrate Thanksgiving this year.

And through all the thought processes and gratitude, I have managed to do a wee bit of crafting.

Primitive Cone Table Top Trees. These were so much fun to make! I used 12x12 Chipboard as my cone base, covering with  a primitive and coordinating patterned paper, adding twine garland with "grunge"* snowflakes for embellishments. Grunge snowflakes were created using lightweight chipboard flakes, sponging a dab of Tim Holtz Distress Paint in Antique Linen, follow with a pouncing of DecoArt Media Matte Medium, sprinkled with Cinnamon, yes from the pantry :)

I am very pleased with the results.

Hope you enjoy!

I also made a Vintage/Chic Scissor can.
Just love when the creativity flows!

God Bless!

Oh, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Grief for Paris & The Tummy Bug Blues

I like millions of others, was shocked and grieved with the terrorism unleashed on the "city of love and light".  And, the President of France, and law and military enforcement, have been swift and diligent in their actions to find and eradicate the terrorists responsible for the horrible carnage.

Here in the US, there is a HUGE cloud of doubt looming on whether or not, our president and law and military enforcement, will be as prepared and swift, if it were to happen here. With a commander in chief that I have very little to o confidence in, odds do not look so good.

My thoughts, and continued prayers go up for those who lost loved ones in this senseless tragedy.  Pray for Paris........

There has been a nasty bug going around in these parts, and I have been hit with it 3 times. The only crafting  I have done, is more paper rolled rose table top tree's (prior to the bug's most recent visit).  Now, back to making my Christmas Cards.

Be blessed in all things, always.

Creative Endeavors

Oswald Chambers stated "When God sends His inspiration, it comes to us with such miraculous power that we are able to "arise from the dead" and do the impossible. The remarkable thing about spiritual initiative is that the life and power comes after we "get up and get going". God does not give us overcoming life-He gives us life as we overcome".

I truly believe in his philosophy. For quite sometime, my crafting had been somewhat on "hiatus". Primarily due to a major life changing decision, that proved to be a colossal mistake.

The last 5 years, has been a rebuilding of our lives. And in the last 5 months, I have dealt with two forms of depression, and came through, reignited and ready to give "life" a chance to shine again.

There is a beauty that is rising, skills of art restored and more,  as  that restoration stated in Isaiah 61:2-3;
....to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve, to bestow upon them  a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor".

My seasons of sorrow have gone, my seasons of mourning's has passed, I emerged a new creation, ready to explore, new creative endeavors.

My latest creative endeavors, a 12x12 scrapbook layout and an oversized tag.

Be blessed in all you do!

A Christmas Wreath

Over the years during the preparations for the Holiday season, I am the biggest procrastinator when it comes to creating my Christmas cards.

Dashing 90% of the "ideas" right into the garbage can. This year, (with the aid of last years Christmas present) my Silhouette Cameo, the creating was spot on!

I am so thrilled with the results of this Christmas Wreath Card.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Coming Up Roses

Today I am sharing what is probably my most favorite project to date.

I had been spending lots of time on Pinterest, trying to find that "one" project, one so inspiring I had to try it myself.

And voila! I found one. A paper flower table top Christmas tree.

Not one project has ever been so gratifying in my crafting endeavors.

ALL the roses, I hand rolled, (no store bought premade flowers here, lol) every single one, ALL
122 of them, I made myself, and even custom hand dying a few.

A very basic store bought, Styrofoam cone, transformed into a thing of beauty, that will grace my entryway table this holiday season.

I hope you enjoy the beauty of it too.

Flowers = Happiness

It has been a good couple of weeks since I last posted. Received unexpected news, that a  cherished friend from long ago, had fallen ill, and passed away. Needless to say I have gone through all the emotions, and decidedly poured myself into creating.

In this time of great emotion, I discovered a  couple of new skills. Hand dying cardstock, and creating flowers with it.

These are just a few examples of the beauties I have finished. And I discovered that, Flowers=Happiness.

Hope you enjoy!  And thanks for stopping by!

"In Dreams"..... Canvas Shadow Box

I enjoy stepping out of my "comfort zone" in creating. With this project, well I had never used a canvas in an "unconventional" way. I so love the results.

SHARING A LITTLE ART

What a beautiful day here in the Ohio, the crispness of fall is in the air. Orange peels, cinnamon and cloves, in a low simmer, to give the house just a "hint" more, to the fall chill.

Just wanted to share a little art, from my art journal that I started while recovering from surgery.

Hope you enjoy, have a blessed day!

FAR TOO LONG

Time can truly get the best of us. Stepped away for what was only to be a brief period of time, to "regroup" not only my crafty process, but my emotional and more importantly, get back in in tune spiritually. Sadly, it all took more time than expected.

Faced a serious surgery to remove a 5lb tumor from my lower neck and upper shoulders, FIVE POUNDS!  My previous treating physician, blew it off for years as being a "fatty deposit, probably from the high levels of artificial insulin I had been on for years".
WRONGO! It was actually a (thank the Lord) noncancerous Lipoma. Recovery was not without complication. I developed an infection. Took the earlier part of the summer to recover, but all is just perfectly healed now.

ANYHOW......I had been ding a bit of crafting on and off, and have discovered the love of  ARTIST TRADING BLOCKS.

My very first ATB. I am thrilled with the results! In the process of creativity, I have really got the hang of my Silhouette Cameo and LOVING it!

Just finished the following lovely today!

Hope y'all enjoy looking! Thanks for stopping by, and come visit again soon!

Today's spiritual inspiration: In Genesis 1:1 we read that "In the beginning, God created the heavens and earth". Wow, that means that our God is a BIG GOD, so is there really anything to big in our lives, that is bigger than God? Just a thought.

Be Blessed In Your Everyday Life!
