Hello Creative Friends!
Welcome to INSPIRE!
Today I want to share with you my latest
Rita Barakat Designs DT project,
a bright and colorful journal page
featuring a shimmering Mermaid.
I love the ocean. My most favorite thing to do
is to sit along the beach,
and watch in wonder, as waves roll, and think about the magnificent life that lives beneath the waves.
Just imagine, a mermaid swimming to and fro beneath the waves, in search of treasures of the sea's.
And of course she would shimmer in beautiful color!
This is my inspiration of this weeks project.
And you can create one to, and here is how!
Using an outdated planner, I first prepped the pages with
white Gesso. Once dry, I used ocean themed wording scrapbook paper, torn and randomly placed, applied using Mod Podge by Plaid.
I then followed using Watercolor Paints by Plaid, along with White paint to add the colorful background. Once I had created "bubbles" I used Glitterific medium also by Plaid to a bit of glitz to the design.
Now for the BEAUTIFUL Princess Mermaid stamp created by Rita Barakat & Technique Junkies!
I first used colored pencils to lay down the color for her, then followed using coordinating glitter gel pens so that she would shimmer with beauty.
Finishing touches, I used phrases taken from
Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers, and a seashell stencil to complete the look.
A cheerful and beautiful journal layout!
