Busily Creating...The Robin's Nest project, and more

Hello everyone!
Popping in to share my recent projects that I have created these last couple of weeks. I have been a very busy gal.

First up, my current project with The Robin's Nest.
Our theme for the month of August has been
"Girly Girl". I created a fun card, that is inspired by a girls life and some of a girls dream's.

For unique paper, cardstock, embellishments & more be sure to visit The Robin's Nest online store.

I have been creating away on a few personal projects as well.

Both my first, second & the 3rd projects, feature  vintage inspired hankie, ribbons, and appliques from my friend
Kim Larson Norman's Facebook store
The Vintage Rose Emporium.

13" Paper Mache' Dress Form

Paper Clay Egg

French Shabby Wooden Heart Wall Décor

So if you are looking for vintage & vintage inspired craft supplies, The vintage rose Emporium, is the place to find them.

Next, is a 6x6 deep canvas mixed media décor project I created for my future sister-in-law for her birthday, which was two days before mine, it was so fun celebrating with her.

The following project, just happens to be where my first love of creating began in my youth, canvas painting.

I absolutely love 6x6 deep canvas's for creating mixed media projects, and I found myself equally as please with painting on one.

My inspiration for this, is of memories from my favorite vacation spot, Panama City Beach in Florida.

And lastly, but not the least, my upcycled DIY
"work in progress"
a chandelier for my craft space.
Chandelier was free
Spray paint/primer $12
Acrylic Crystal Dangles $4
Cost thus far $16
I still need to pick up some chandelier acrylic crystal chain to finish, but as of now, it is coming together very nicely, and affordable too.

I want to thank all who stop by, please let me know you were here, by leaving me a note in the comments.

Some Birthday Love!

Hello, back for another post.

This posting, is my submission for the Birthday Challenge Giveaway, hosted by the wonderful and talented, and my crafty friend Amy Love.

She, like myself, can find creating cards a challenge, so this was also away for me to expand my efforts, in trying a new way to create cards. Without any aid of a die cutting machine. That is huge for me, lol.

I actually found it to be less challenging than I thought it would be, and found myself more creative with this card, than any I have created before.

I am a crafter that generally creates about something I am passionate about, 99.9% of the time, and find the results very satisfactory.

My most recent passion, rather "obsession" is the series OUTLANDER, and I wanted to make a card inspired by the series main characters, Jamie & Claire, and their love for one another.

The following are my personal preferences & selection of supplies, go by what you feel, what you may be passionate about, and what you like to create with.

On to the supply list & how to.

SUPPLY LIST:
Card/Cardstock
Adhesives:
Scor Tape
Dimensional Dots
Beacon 3n1
Patterned Paper
Tag(s)
Decorative ATC/Journal Card
Word Stickers
Object or Shape stickers
Ephemera (I used pieces from ArtC's Ephemera pack)
Embellishments; buttons, flowers, trinkets etc.
Ink; Ink Spray
Rubber Stamp Background Design
Embossing Powder
Heat Tool
Ribbon; Lace; Twine

Remember, this is suggested supplies, work with what works best for you.

I chose a square card, for some reason, they are my favorite.

And I really stepped out of my comfort zone with this design, I worked in layers, something I had never done before.

So, I chose patterned and solid paper selections for Prima's Stationer's Desk, only using my paper cutter to square the first layer. I lightly distressed the edges with both a tool and coordinating ink to the color of paper, in which case was TH Weathered Wood Distress Ink.
I set this paper with double sided Scor Tape.

The next two layers, after cutting the paper to card size, I decided to rip the paper, giving a very torn/worn effect, as the second layer was a solid color, I embossed with rubber stamp (written design) with TH Fired Brick Distress Ink, the used clear embossing powder and heat tool to set, as well as using the ink on the frayed edges for more definition.

The third layer, was a handwritten and rose print design, and I used TH Antique Linen Distress Ink on the edges for definition.

Both of these layers, I used dimensional dots to adhere.

And finished by using TH Antique Gold Distress Spray, not spraying, but using the inside of the sprayer to place random "drops" of gold to finish.

I chose a preprinted ATC that has an old world feel as the base for the additional design. Using a small color coordinating tag & printed image of the "romantic couple", also adhering with dimensional dots.

For embellishing, I chose word ephemera, using both dimensional dots and Scor Tape to attach to the image, added twine to the tag, attaching a brass key, and gluing a "regal" looking brass button to add a bit more flair to the tag.

I finally finished with a light weight, pre-cut doily, cut in half, placed at opposite corners, and doing the same with handmade paper red roses on the other corners, and randomly place tiny lace trim for adding affect.

On the inside of the card, I used remnant pieces of the paper used for the front of the card, using the distressing tool & distress ink to add interest, and a cork sticker in the shape of a key.

So, here it is, my "Romantique" card.
The red signifies passion, and if anyone has ever seen the show, well, there is plenty of that between these two.

The inside.

I want to thank Amy Love for such a great challenge. I stretched myself way beyond my comforts in card making, and I am more than thrilled with the results!
